Brian Houston was born in Auckland, New Zealand on February 17, 1954.
Joel Houston was born “Joel Timothy Houston” to Pastor Brian Houston and Bobbie Houston on September 19, 1979.
Darlene Steinhardt married Mark Zschech on September 14, 1984.
Geoff Bullock, worship pastor, left Hillsong Church in October 1995.
Hillsong United evolved from the youth ministry led by Hillsong Youth Pastors, Phil and Lucinda Dooley, called “Powerhouse Youth,” that split into two groups, Wildlife (aged 12-17) and Powerhouse (aged 18-25).
The Wildhouse group had Joel Houston, Marty Sampson, Luke Munns and Michael Guy Chislett .
The Powerhouse group had Mark Stevens, Nigel Hendroff, Peter King and Raymond Badham.
In 1998, the Wildlife and Powerhouse groups became Hillsong United.
Reuben Morgan, with Marcus Beaumont and Tanya Riches, led Hillsong United until 2003.
In 2005, Annie McIntosh, worship leader, married Brent Garratt.
Marty Sampson married Michelle in November 2006.
In 2006, Miriam Webster left Hillsong Church.
In 2007, Darlene Zschech stepped down as Hillsong worship pastor.
In 2008, Reuben Morgan succeeded Darlene Zschech as worship pastor.
In 2008, Laura Houston, daughter of Pastor Brian Houston and Bobbie Houston, married Peter Toganivalu.
Brooke Fraser married Scott Ligertwood on March 17, 2008.
Hillsong announced that the live worship series, “Hillsong Live,” would be released as “Hillsong Worship” beginning with the No Other Name album released on June 27, 2014.
“What A Beautiful Name,” written by Ben Fielding and Brooke Ligertwood, and published by Hillsong Music, won “Song of the Year” award at the 2017 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, held at the Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on October 17, 2017.
